The Union Pacific modernized its long distance
passenger trains following WWII. In addition to
the many “City” trains, the Challenger provided
affordable first class service between Chicago
and Los Angeles. Service into Chicago was
originally provided through a connection with
the Chicago and Northwestern and later the
Milwaukee Road. The train received new dome
coach and observation cars in 1955. This new
set is perfect for use behind your favorite Union
Pacific - or Milwaukee Road - passenger power!
